Dr Fiona Lewis
Dr Fiona Lewis trained in dermatology at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield and completed her MD thesis on clinical and immunological aspects of lichen sclerosus there.
She now runs the vulval clinic service at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, which is a busy tertiary service for complex vulval conditions. With colleagues, she has established the St John’s annual course on ano-genital and oral dermatology.
She teaches on all aspects of vulval disease at a local, national and international level. She is co-author of A Practical textbook of Vulval Disease written for trainees and is co-editor of the textbook Ridley’s The Vulva. She is chair of the guideline development group for the 2018 British Association of Dermatologists Guidelines on the management of lichen sclerosus and has been involved in writing guidelines for other aspects of vulval disease. She has been chair of the Patient Education Committee for the International Society for the Study of Vulval Disease and was secretary of the European College for the Study of Vulval Disease until 2016.
