Dr Qizhi Huang


Dr Qizhi Huang is a GP and NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Primary Care at the University of Sheffield. She completed her PhD in Biology at the University of York and RCGP training in Sheffield. Her research focuses on prostate cancer, with a particular interest in reducing musculoskeletal complications from hormone therapy and improving cancer survivorship. She also works on prostate cancer screening and early diagnosis. She is a Clinical Champion and a member of Clinical Advisory Group at the Prostate Cancer UK.  

Dr Huang is passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion in research and clinical practice. She is a core member of the Yorkshire & Humber Deep End Research Alliance (DERA), collaborating with underserved communities using a co-participatory approach. Her work led to the foundation of 1in4SPSG (1 in 4 Sheffield Prostate cancer Support Group), the first South Yorkshire support group for Black men with prostate cancer. As an academic GP, she has also served as Research Lead for the Sheffield South East Research Group (SSEGP).
