Some of the things the venue does

  • Donate Not Waste is an initiative that takes things businesses throw away and gives them to charities, schools and play centres that need them. Any suitable waste items such as stationery, fabric and display materials will be donated where possible.
  • No waste to landfill – Waste that cannot be donated will be recycled or responsibly incinerated and turned into energy. Separate bins for different types of waste are provided throughout the venue.
  • The BDC donated furniture, such as exhibition stands that cannot be used anymore to LV Enterprise for their local project, Furniture Fix. Local unemployed people will clean, repair and customise them and sell them.
  • Cycle storage & electric charging points are available at the venue.
  • All lighting at the BDC is low energy.
  • Plastic-free catering
  • Support offsetting projects including Acre Amazonian Rainforest Conservation, Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve and Guatemala Water Filtration.
