Dr George Moncrieff graduated from St Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1979 and was awarded the Grainger prize in dermatology in his final year.
Since 2000, he has run a dermatology service from his practice, receiving about 15 new referrals each week from the local GPs, covering a population of 80,000.
From 2010 until 2014 he was the RCGP Curriculum Guardian for Dermatology. In 2014 he was elected chair of the Dermatology Council for England, a body that aims to represent the issues facing dermatology, including patient support groups, healthcare professionals and the pharmaceutical industry. He now works part-time as a GP, spending more time on dermatology and his family.
