Dr Ind has worked as a specialist respiratory physician with interests in asthma, COPD, cough and sub-speciality interests in vasculitis and respiratory complications of haematology. During the coronavirus epidemic he has been remotely reviewing patients, although he retired from the NHS in 2019. His research interests centre on airways pharmacology – asthma and COPD, beta-2 agonists, PET and ventilation scanning, cough and induced sputum. He led a small group conducting academic clinical research in asthma and COPD and have published over 120 original papers in addition to reviews, invited editorials and chapters. As well as participating in clinical trials he has been a member of the Respiratory & Allergy Medicines Expert Advisory Group of the Commission on Human Medicines since 2010.
