HidraWear is the world's first and only wound dressing system designed specifically for Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), a chronic, painful skin condition characterised by recurring lesions in the armpits, groin, and buttocks. Developed by Galway-based MedTech company HidraMed Solutions, HidraWear was born out of a clear gap in care: conventional dressings are designed for flat or convex surfaces, yet HS wounds typically occur in concave, difficult-to-dress areas of the body.
The HidraWear system combines highly absorbent dressings with a patented SecureLock™ fastening technology integrated into soft, breathable, reusable baselayers. This eliminates the need for adhesive dressings and tape, reducing dressing-related pain, skin damage, and leakage, while enabling patients to change dressings in the home setting through supported self care. The baselayer range includes options for the armpit, groin, and buttocks, for both men and women.
